Porter, a native of Port Jervis, New York, brings with him a wealth of coaching and playing experience. He is the founder of Coach Porter LLC, a basketball training program that has helped send numerous athletes on to play college basketball.

Washington County Community College Welcomes Manny Porter as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
CALAIS, ME, July 13, 2026: Washington County Community College is pleased to announce the hiring of Manny Porter as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach for the 2026/2027 academic year.
Porter, a native of Port Jervis, New York, brings with him a wealth of coaching and playing experience. He is the founder of Coach Porter LLC, a basketball training program that has helped send numerous athletes on to play college basketball. Prior to joining Washington County Community College, Porter coached high school basketball in New York and served as an AAU coach for the Newburgh Goldbacks.
As a player, Porter spent one season at the State University of New York at Ulster, where he averaged 17 points and 5 assists per game before an injury brought his playing career to an end.
Porter holds a bachelor's degree in sports management from Grand Canyon University. In addition to his basketball background, he has experience working in education with behavioral students, as well as students with autism.
"We are excited to welcome Coach Porter to our program," said Seth Martin, Director of Athletics and Community Engagement at WCCC. "His experience as a player, trainer, and mentor will be a tremendous asset to our student athletes."
Porter has three children: Nasiir, 17; Skylar, 12; and Ermias, 5.
