WCCC Coach James Blase Competing on the Global Golf Stage in Thailand
Hua Hin, Thailand — Washington County Community College (WCCC) Head Golf and Cross Country Coach James Blase is representing the college on the international golf stage this week as a professional caddie at the Asian Tour Final Stage Qualifying School, held at the Lake View Resort and Golf Club.
Coach Blase brings an impressive professional background to WCCC, with seven years of experience as a caddie on both the PGA and LPGA Tours. Over the course of his career, he has worked more than 200 professional events, including one tour victory, gaining extensive knowledge at the highest levels of competitive golf.
This week, Blase is caddying for Las Vegas native Matt Snyder, who is competing against 240 players across two championship courses in one of the most demanding qualifying formats in professional golf. At stake are Asian Tour cards, awarded to the top 40 finishers and ties, granting players entry into the international tour for the upcoming season.
The Asian Tour is widely recognized as a major global circuit and serves as a pathway to the LIV Golf Tour, making this event a critical opportunity for aspiring professionals.
Coach Blase's continued involvement at the elite level of the sport brings valuable insight and experience back to WCCC student-athletes. His firsthand knowledge of international competition, course strategy, and professional preparation strengthens the college's golf and cross country programs and provides students with a unique connection to the global golf community.
